In recent months, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has investigated reports of burglaries and thefts at several storage units in Chautauqua County.
On December 25, MPs carried out a targeted patrol of a storage facility on Dutch Hallow Road in Ellery Center, town of Ellery.
While on duty, a vehicle entered the parking lot, saw the patrol vehicle parked behind the storage buildings and immediately fled.
Sheriff’s assistants attempted to conduct a roadside check on the vehicle, but the vehicle continued to flee.
The chase ended when the suspect finally pulled into Salisbury Road in the town of Ellery.
Amanda Sendall, 35, was then taken into police custody. While in custody, Sendall had active arrest warrants from seven police departments in New York and Ohio.
During the search of the vehicle, police discovered that Sendall was in possession of bolt cutters, a saw and other tools used in the break-in.
Sendall was arrested on active warrants and subsequently charged with Possession of Burglar Tools, Aggravated Operator Without a 2nd Degree License, and Police Breach of Law.
