FELTON — A 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of shooting a gun at a liquor store.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lucius Frederick Barry Chisholm on suspicion of five felony and two misdemeanor counts after responding around 9 p.m. to a reported shooting at the Verutti liquor store at 6191 Hwy. 9. Chrisholm remained in custody at the Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail Thursday.

Chisholm was due to be arraigned Friday morning on charges of assault with a firearm and enhancements to grievous bodily harm, aggravated felony violation, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and use of a firearm. fire.

Other felony charges filed by the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office include carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm and exposing a firearm to fire, as well as the possession of a large capacity magazine.

Chisholm was allegedly involved in an altercation with another person when Chisholm fired the gun, according to Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lt. Patrick Dimick. No injuries resulted from the shooting and detectives recovered the gun that was allegedly used, he said.
