CBRE – The global real estate advisor has appointed Richard Basford as a senior manager of its UK retail investment team. Bashford joined from Fawcett Mead, where he has spent the past seven years as a director, focusing on the domestic retail investment market. Previously, he was Director of JLL’s National Retail Investment Team. His new role will encompass all aspects of retail investment, with a focus on repurposing the national main street, periphery and retail. Avignon Capital – The property management consultant has appointed Craig Ballantyne as Investment Manager for Germany. Ballantyne’s mandate will also cover investment strategy, sourcing and origination, debt financing and financing. Based in Berlin, Ballantyne has over 25 years’ experience in investment and asset management as well as development, in the UK and continental Europe. Before moving to Germany in 2002, he previously held positions at Knight Frank and Donaldson’s in the UK. Since 2006, he has run his own consulting firm, CMB Consulting, working for several international and institutional clients including Barings. Prior to CMB, he was previously Director of Commercial Assets and Acquisitions at Deka Immobilien before taking on the role of Managing Director at property and asset manager Estama.

Flatfair Gary Wright, former Chief Revenue Officer of Flatfair, was promoted to co-CEO. Wright will lead day-to-day business operations while founder and co-CEO Franz Doerr will focus on finance and corporate strategy. Finance Silbury – Development lender backed by Oaktree Capital Management has appointed Jamie Rader as Chief Investment Officer and Trevor DaCosta as chief financial officer. Rahder, who has nearly a decade of experience in real estate and financial services, will be responsible for originating new real estate transactions, executing transactions and ongoing management of the loan portfolio. He joins Silbury from Octopus Real Estate, where he spent five years as a senior development initiator, working alongside Silbury founding partner Gavin Eustace. Previously, he spent two years at Hampshire Trust Bank as a loan analyst within the property finance team. DaCosta will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function, with specific responsibility for reporting performance to the board of directors, financial planning and analysis, and ensuring that the business complies with all regulatory requirements and other legal requirements. John Mattson – The residential real estate group has mandated Mattias Lundstrom as the new Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Maria Sidén who will resign. Lundström is the chief financial officer of ICA Properties, a company he joined in 2017. Prior to that, he also served as CFO at GE Real Estate and CEO at GE Capital Lending and Leasing in the Nordic region. Lundström will join John Mattson Group Management and assume his new role no later than August 9, 2022. Lars Ingman will take over as Acting Chief Financial Officer at John Mattson for the interim period following Sidén’s departure in February/March until until Lundström assumes the position.
