Business Minister Tara Cheyne reported to hearings on Budget Estimates today (October 20) that 7,400 jobs were lost in ACT last month and nearly half a million dollars were lost. spent on KPMG consultants advising on the business support program.

“The hotel industry employs tens of thousands of Canberrans, but this Labor-Green government continues to punish them with crippling restrictions that will cost more jobs,” Castley said.

“The government is talking about a consumer-led recovery, but the restrictions are pushing Canberra’s purchasing power beyond the border.

“This incompetent government is big on announcements but hopeless on delivery, and businesses know it.”
