Will a huge price drop lead to the sale of McBrody’s Bar & Grill?

JOLIET, IL – Many new restaurants are opening along West Jefferson Street and Larkin Avenue in Joliet, but in downtown Joliet no one has bought the old McBrody’s Bar & Grill. The building sits directly across from the new 10-story Will County Courthouse, a hub of activity that thousands of people attend Monday through Friday.

In July 2020, Patch reported that Joliet real estate investor Bill Aeschlimann was trying to sell the old McBrody’s Bar & Grill, which includes 2,460 square feet of restaurant and bar space. There were no buyers at its original price of $ 599,000.

Then, last month, McBrody’s suffered a substantial price drop.

The new listing price is $ 475,000, according to Mark Koenig, owner and broker of the Koenig Group.

That’s a price reduction of almost $ 125,000.

“Excellent opportunity to own a 2,460 square foot old restaurant / bar with huge 21 (by) 82 outside patio in a fast growing commercial area with huge daytime population,” the real estate brochure for McBrody’s States. “Prime location across from the new Will County Court Complex. “

Originally, Aeschlimann had planned to turn McBrody’s into Courtside Sports Bar in 2018, but he gave up on those dreams and chose to put the building up for sale in the summer of 2020.

McBrody’s closed in the summer of 2014 and has been empty ever since.
